Quality comes from character, education, and experience: CPA....the three letters that set us apart.  The CPA is a professional designation that must be earned through testing and work experience above and beyond the initial college credit hour investment.  Simply to be CPA exam eligible, a candidate must possess a minimum of 150 college credit hours or the equivalent of a Master's Degree.  This exam can be equated to the bar exam for attorney or medical boards for doctors. 

Also, it does not stop here.  Every CPA, whether in public accounting or working in a financial capacity for a business, is required to maintain and renew licensure.  Specific to this requisite is 40 hours a year of qualified continuing professional education.
